Lamb, mini eggs, daffodils and bridesmaids

Being a teacher I am lucky enough to have two weeks off over Easter. This is my favourite school holiday as it’s long enough to do lots without something as big as Christmas getting in the way and stressing you out, the weather’s starting to look up but it’s also not as long as the six week summer holidays so there’s not chance of getting bored.

This Easter I wanted to pack a lot in a have a truly rest break. I’ve been ill a lot this term and not sleeping properly so thought a nice rest would do me the world of good.

After a bit of relaxing and drinking with friends i decided to be productive:

On the Wednesday I spent the day spring cleaning. My oh my do we live among crap… I think M thinks that under the sofa is his rubbish bin.. I threw away 4 black bin bags of stuff from the downstairs alone, when questioned about the contents i explained it was just rubbish. Garbage. Unwanted. It feels lovely though to a have a neat, tidy and clutter free downstairs..

I also considered new summer time living room colours..

Want to introduce some yellows and greys into thr room.. Crochet yellow and blackzigzag stitch cushion perhaps?

On the Friday i had my best friend from university and her fiancee come to stay. We don’t see each other very much but it’s always as if we’ve not been apart. On the Saturday I took her and another friend out for fancy shmancy cocktails and ‘popped the question’ about being my bridesmaids!

We spent the weekend, drinking and eating far too much and topped the weekend offwith putting the lamb in the slow cooker and spending the morning at Colchester Zoo to work up an appetite.

After they left I consoled myself with a bit of mindless crochet. Cushion cover perhaps?

M booked a few more days of so we had nearly a week together. We spent a morning bike riding around the ranges across the road, we are so lucky to have this on our doorstep, it only strengthens my resolves in getting a dog!

On M’s last day off we trekked down to Surrey to visit my god mother and ask her daughter (my oldest friend) to be my bridesmaid. Her reaction was typically her when i gave her the box.. “I dont get it.. I knew that anyway!”.

I also got snuggles with this little chap.

Now it’s time to do the mountains of work I’ve left for myself and enjoy my last couple of days off before it’s back to the grind stone..

I’ll leave you with all the flowers I’ve had around the house this holiday.

Don’t forget to follow! 🙂
